Description
Often times we think of the word “transition” as our special education students graduating high school and entering the real world. Over the years I’ve realized that’s not the only “transition” my special education students make. We sometimes forget how overwhelming it can be for a student leaving the elementary and entering into the middle school. It can also be overwhelming for those older junior high students leaving their building and moving on to the high school. It’s not only important to help make this building transition as easy as possible for students, but also their parents.
However, these guides don’t have to be JUST for special education students. It can be an overwhelming process for any student advancing a grade to a new building.
“Transition Tips & Tricks” is a guide to hand out to parents at the end of a school year when students will be transitioning to their new building, or as a guide to hand out at the beginning of the school year to help the transition process.
