UPDATED: AUGUST 5TH, 2020 – NOW INCLUDES GOOGLE SLIDE
We’ve all been there at least once. It’s the first week of school. We’ve went over the rules, procedures, expectations, etc. THEN – there comes that few minutes of down time at the very end. We planned for an entire period, but got done early.
Don’t stress. It happens. I’ve been there many times. This year I’ve come up with “Take 5.” “Take 5” is a quick and incredibly easy to use back to school activity. Use each day of the week, of your first five days back to school, for only five minutes a day. Get to know your students, while helping them plan goals for the upcoming year.
Your first week back isn’t a full 5 days? Maybe it’s 3 days? That’s ok! Choose three activity sheets to use that week, for five minutes a day. Save the other two activity sheets for later. OR – use all the sheets in one day, setting a timer for five minutes a page. The choice of use for your classroom is totally up to you!
I have created 5 ready to print & go (PDF) activity sheets for student use.
I have also added 1 completely blank page for you to add text boxes to in Powerpoint, to ask questions to best fit your classroom needs.
I have also included a link to use them in Google Slides
An idea of some of the questions included:
– last year memories
– last year’s achievements/challenges
– a new class he/she is taking this year
– new class expectations
– his/her friends
– club and activities he/she is a member of
– goals for this year
– a goal met last year
– a few of his/her favorite things
Use the activity sheets in any order you choose!
These sheets are perfect to keep on hand and reference through out the year!
If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask!
