Calendar Quick Writes are daily writing prompts for middle school and high school students. They are a combination of your classroom calendar and your daily writing prompts. When they are combined, they make for the perfect interactive calendar. It’s super simple and easy to use. Some assembly is required, but you will have it to use year after year!
These began when I decided I needed to bring a little life to my bulletin board, without getting rid of my classroom calendar my students use. Creating large calendar numbers with a writing prompt for each day on the back, seemed like the way to go. BOY was I right. I purchased scrapbooking paper (6 in. x 6in. squares) arranged them on my bulletin board like a calendar would look, added some mini clothes pins to hang the calendar pieces/prompts from, and the rest was history! I turn that day’s calendar piece over, and the students have their quick write for the day.
I only allow no more than 5 minutes when my students are writing their quick writes. Each prompt is to promote positive thinking and reflecting on the good. It is more as a journal entry, than a traditional classroom writing prompt.
Student response journals are also included. Just print a cover and as many daily entry pages that you will need for each student, staple them together, and go!
The calendar pieces I use on my bulletin board are 4.75 in. x 4.75in. in size. I realize this might not be the best size for all of you, so I also created 2.5 in. x 2.5 in. to accommodate a calendar you might already have and want to continue to use. Each calendar number is editable, allowing you to change the font and use whatever matches your room’s style! The size of the squares is not editable. Everything else is secured, because of copyright laws.

I always try to be as detailed as I can be when typing a product description, but
