In my high school special education classroom, I’m always trying to come up with new ways to show how important skills being taught can also be applied to life after graduation. Especially during virtual learning.
Being able to determine an unknown word’s meaning is an important literacy skill. I decided to come up with vocation scenarios for my students to read, to reinforce the importance of this skill.
I created 25 easy to read, BOOM Cards™ for students to practice determining the meaning of unknown words – in “real world” vocation scenarios. BOOM Cards™ are easy to assign to virtual learners, they’re engaging, AND they are self checking.
