Description
Whether it be because of a student’s/family’s choice, an illness, or because of a behavior, some of our special education students do become enrolled in cyber school programs.
In 2017, I became a co-teacher in our school district’s cyber school program – via Google Classroom. I am responsible for the students on my caseload who are enrolled within the program, just as if they were attending school in the classrooms that I am in each day.
To say I was overwhelmed my first year of being a co-teacher in this type of setting would be a complete understatement. I still have to adapt and modify lessons. I still have to make sure their IEP is being followed. I still have to progress monitor. However, I knew this year would be different. I put together a binder to help me stay organized, while monitoring these individual students in the cyber school setting.
